Swim the pristine waters of Goat Island Marine Reserve!

We are delighted to be partnering with Yogifish.nz - who creates ocean swim adventures for salty souls - to bring you a fundraising Safari Swim around the iconic Island at Te Hāwere-a-Maki/ Goat Island Marine reserve to support our kaupapa.

The Safari Swim

The swim is one lap of Goat Island which is approximately 2kms. This swim is suitable for confident ocean swimmers who can freestyle 1.5kms in open ocean.

The Course

  • 7:00 - Check in and Registration - (cash only on the day).

  • 8:15 am - Compulsory briefing on the beach

  • 8:30 am - Event Start - Safari Lap of Goat Island

  • 10:30 am - All swimmers out of the water, Spot Prize draw.

IMPORTANT: All swimmers must be pre-registered for this event and be out of the water by 10.30am.

TOW FLOATS MANDATORY, wetsuits strongly recommended (water temperature: about 21C)

Spot Prizes and Morning Tea

All swimmers go into our Spot Prize draw, with lots of great prizes up for grabs. We will finish the morning off with a bake sale of homemade goodies. Please bring cash on the day.

REGISTRATIONS

All swimmers must pre-register with Yogifish to join the event. Online registrations are $35, registrations on the day are $50 (cash only).

You must be fit and able to swim unaided in open water for the length of the swim
If you are unwell or sick, do not swim
You must have no pre-existing health issues that will be a risk to you when open ocean swimming
You must follow all event and swim instructions
A Tow float is mandatory for visibility and safety
Flippers are allowed and a wetsuit is strongly advised
Participants must be 14 years old and able to swim unaided in open water for the length of the swim
* You must read and consent to the Event Waiver provided by Yogifish upon sign up.
